Ingredients
- 2 pounds halibut, cut into bite size pieces
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
- 3/4 teaspoon chile-garlic sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/8 teaspoon sesame oil
- 4 cups thinly sliced mushrooms
- 2 cups thinly sliced onions
- 1 lemon, cut in half
- Kosher salt, to taste
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 3/4 cup sliced green onions
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature of 375 degrees Fahrenheit (or 190 degrees Celsius, if you prefer metric).
2
Place an oven rack in the middle of your oven to ensure even cooking.
3
Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray it lightly with cooking spray for easy cleanup.
4
Arrange the halibut pieces on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer, making sure they're all touching each other.
5
Mix together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, chili garlic sauce, sugar, soy sauce, and sesame oil in a bowl. Then, gently fold the sliced mushrooms and onion into the mayonnaise mixture.
6
Spread the mushroom mixture evenly over the halibut pieces, making sure they're fully coated.
7
Place a half of a lemon on top of the mushroom mixture and sprinkle with Kosher salt for added flavor.
8
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and cook until the fish is almost opaque, which should take around 15 to 20 minutes. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and carefully transfer it to a higher oven rack.
9
Turn your oven to broil and continue cooking the fish under the high heat until the top is nicely browned, taking about 10 minutes.
10
Place a half of a lemon on top of the fish and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish.
