Ingredients
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 tablespoon grated orange zest
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut into 1 inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup bean sprouts
- 1 (6 ounce) package crispy chow mein noodles
Instructions
1
Combine the juice of one orange, some grated orange peel, soy sauce, a pinch of salt, minced garlic, and a small amount of brown sugar in a tiny bowl. Stir everything together until it's smooth.
2
Next, heat some oil in a large cooking vessel over medium-high heat. When the oil starts to froth and bubble, carefully add your chicken pieces. Cook until they're no longer pink inside, taking about 7 to 10 minutes.
3
Now, add the mixture you created earlier to your chicken and cook until the sauce starts to simmer. Gradually add a little bit of flour at a time, stirring constantly until the sauce reaches your desired consistency. Add some bean sprouts and cook for just 1 minute; then, serve the dish hot over a bed of chow mein noodles.
