Wine-Based Fondue
Ingredients
  • 1 (750 milliliter) bottle white wine
  • 1 (2 inch) piece cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 10 black peppercorns, crushed
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt

Add a generous amount of wine to a saucepan, and sprinkle in a few whole cinnamon sticks, some ground coriander, a pinch of black pepper, a handful of cloves, a spoonful of sugar, a dash of salt, a sprinkle of celery salt, and a pinch of garlic salt. Allow the mixture to steep for 1 hour, then heat it up until it starts to simmer. Next, carefully strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve or colander lined with cheesecloth to remove any solids, and transfer the resulting broth to your fondue pan. Finally, bring the mixture to a rolling boil before serving.
