Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 quart chicken broth
- 1 (15.5 ounce) can white beans, drained
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can petite diced tomatoes
- 1/2 head cabbage, shredded
- 3/4 pound ham, diced
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
Instructions
1
Preheat the saucepan over medium-high heat, adding a generous amount of olive oil to it.
2
Once the oil is hot, introduce the sliced onion into the pot and begin cooking, stirring frequently until it becomes soft and translucent, approximately 5 minutes pass.
3
Add a pinch of Italian seasoning to the mixture and continue cooking for another minute, allowing the flavors to meld together.
4
Now, introduce the chicken broth, white beans, diced tomatoes, shredded cabbage, sliced ham, and chopped celery into the pot.
5
Bring the mixture to a rolling boil before gradually reducing the heat to low and letting it simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the celery and cabbage are tender.
