Warm Apple Brownie Skillet
Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 cups apples - peeled, cored and chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or equivalently 175 degrees Celsius.
2
Insert an 8- or 9-inch cast iron skillet into the oven to warm it up.
3
In a separate container, combine the dry ingredients of flour, white sugar, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
4
Once the dry ingredients have been combined, set them aside for later use.
5
Meanwhile, in a separate mixing vessel, blend together eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
6
Then, incorporate the apples and pecans into this mixture by tossing them in the dry ingredients before adding them to the egg mixture.
7
Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in the preheated skillet, rotating it to evenly coat the interior.
8
Now, pour the batter into the hot pan and place it back in the oven.
9
Bake until the sides of the brownie have dried out, and when you insert a toothpick into its center, it comes out clean.
10
This should take approximately 40 minutes.
11
After the brownie has finished baking, allow it to cool in the skillet for 20 minutes before carefully removing and slicing it into portions.
