Vegan Mushroom Sauce
Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 (8 ounce) package sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 pinch dried thyme
Instructions
1
Heat a generous amount of oil in a medium-sized saucepan over a moderately high heat setting. Next, add sliced mushrooms and cook until they become tender and soft, taking around 8 minutes to achieve this.
2
Subsequently, add a small amount of flour and stir it in thoroughly until the mushrooms are evenly coated with the powder.
3
Following this, slowly pour a small amount of vegetable broth into the saucepan while continuously stirring it to prevent lumps from forming. Keep stirring until the flour has completely dissolved and is well mixed into the broth.
4
Add a pinch of salt, some black pepper, garlic powder, and dried thyme leaves to the saucepan. Stir everything together to combine.
5
Now, bring the gravy mixture to a rolling boil. After that, reduce the heat setting to low and stir occasionally while it simmers until it thickens up, taking around 5 minutes to achieve this.
