- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

- 12 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese

Preheat the oven to a temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).

Spray an 8-inch square baking dish with non-stick cooking spray; layer hash brown potatoes evenly.

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook sausage and onion until the sausage is nicely browned and crumbled, approximately 10 minutes; drain excess liquid.
