Turkey with Sage Stuffing
Ingredients
  • 1 (12 ounce) package dry bread stuffing mix
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 celery, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons dried sage
  • 12 pounds whole turkey, neck and giblets removed
Instructions
1
Prepare the pre-packaged stuffing mix according to its specific instructions and set it aside in a large container.
2
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, which is equivalent to 175 degrees Celsius.
3
Bring water to a rolling boil in a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat, and add diced onion, chopped celery, and dried sage leaves to the water. Simmer for 10 minutes, or until the onion becomes soft and tender. Combine this mixture with the prepared stuffing.
4
Rinse the turkey thoroughly under cold water, and gently pat it dry with paper towels. Then, carefully fill the turkey's body and neck cavities with the prepared stuffing mixture.
5
Position the turkey in a large roasting pan, and roast it for 3 to 3 1/2 hours in the preheated oven, or until the internal temperature of the thigh meat reaches 180 degrees Fahrenheit and the stuffing has reached a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
