Turkey Pasta Bake
Ingredients
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages angel hair pasta
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup sliced onion
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese, divided
  • 2 tablespoons chopped pimento peppers
  • 1 (4.5 ounce) can sliced mushrooms
  • 1 pound cooked turkey, sliced
Instructions
1
First, preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Next, fill a large pot with water and add a pinch of salt. Place the pot on high heat and bring the water to a rolling boil.
2
Add your pasta to the boiling water and cook for 4 minutes, or until it's almost tender. Remove from the pot using a strainer.
3
Now, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add sliced onions to the pan and cook until they're soft and fragrant. Stir in flour until it's well combined, then gradually add milk to the mixture, ensuring no lumps form. Season with salt, black pepper, poultry seasoning, and a dash of mustard. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
4
Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in 2/3 cup of cheese until it's fully incorporated. Add undrained mushrooms to the cheese sauce and mix well.
5
Arrange a layer of pasta at the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Cover with a layer of sliced turkey, followed by a layer of cheese sauce. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of pasta on top.
6
Sprinkle the remaining 1/3 cup of cheese over the top layer of pasta.
7
Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until the cheese sauce is bubbly and the top layer of cheese is golden brown.
