Turkey Nacho Casserole
Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 1 (1 ounce) package dry taco seasoning mix
  • 1 (14 ounce) can refried beans
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) package tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 (4 ounce) can sliced black olives
  • 1 ripe tomato, diced
  • 1 bunch green onions, sliced
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature of three fifty degrees Fahrenheit or one seventy five degrees Celsius.
2
Next, heat up a large skillet over medium heat and start browning the ground turkey. Add some minced garlic, a pinch of black pepper, one teaspoon of spicy red flakes, and one tablespoon of chopped chives to the skillet. Add a splash of hot sauce - about one tablespoon - and stir well. Continue cooking until the turkey is nicely browned, then add the contents of a taco seasoning packet according to the package's instructions.
3
In a separate bowl, warm up the beans in the microwave until they're soft and tender. Add one tablespoon of chopped chives and a dash of hot sauce - about one tablespoon - to the beans.
4
Arrange a layer of tortilla chips on the bottom of a baking sheet, then spoon the warmed bean mixture over the top. Spread the browned turkey mixture evenly over the beans, followed by a sprinkle of cheese and some chopped olives. Add sliced tomatoes, green onions, and a final sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes on top.
5
Finally, bake the entire dish in your preheated oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly, approximately fifteen minutes.
