Turkey Hash Brown Bake
Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup oil for frying
  • 1 pound frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed
  • 1 pound ground turkey breast
  • 1 large onion, cut into chunks
  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen broccoli, thawed
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can reduced fat cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup reduced fat cream of celery soup
  • 1 cup shredded fat free Cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup skim milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • seasoned salt to taste
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
2
Next, lightly coat an 8x12-inch casserole dish with a thin layer of oil to prevent sticking.
3
In a small skillet, heat the oil over medium heat and cook the hash browns until they are golden brown.
4
Then, spread the cooked hash browns evenly across the bottom and sides of the prepared casserole dish to create a crust.
5
In another skillet, cook the turkey over medium heat until it is lightly browned.
6
Meanwhile, chop the onion and cook it with the turkey until it is tender.
7
In a separate bowl, microwave the broccoli in a microwave-safe container on high for 4 to 5 minutes, or until it is tender.
8
Now, combine the cooked turkey, onion, and broccoli with the hash browns in the casserole dish.
9
In a separate bowl, whisk together both condensed soups, Cheddar cheese, milk, garlic powder, pepper, and seasoned salt until well combined.
10
Pour the soup mixture over the casserole dish, making sure everything is coated evenly.
11
Then, bake the casserole in the preheated oven until it's bubbly and hot, about 25 minutes.
12
Finally, garnish the casserole with chopped tomato and serve hot.
