Tuna and Mushroom Bake
Ingredients
  • 2 cups bow tie pasta
  • 2 (5 ounce) cans tuna, drained
  • 1 (10 ounce) can mushrooms, drained
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 1/3 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme, crushed
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high heat setting of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or 175 degrees Celsius, if you prefer metric).
2
Next, take a moment to prepare your cooking vessel by coating the inside of a 1-quart casserole dish with a thin layer of oil or cooking spray. This will prevent your dish from sticking and make cleanup much easier.
3
In a separate pot, fill it with water to a sufficient level to cover the pasta you plan on using. Add a pinch of salt, then bring the water to a rolling boil.
4
Once your pasta is cooked to your liking - slightly firm in the center, or 'al dente' as it's commonly known - remove it from the pot with a slotted spoon and drain off any excess water.
5
In another mixing bowl, whisk together the contents of a can of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper until they're well combined.
6
Then, add the canned tuna, sliced mushrooms, and cooked pasta to this bowl. Mix everything together until it's smooth and even.
7
In a third mixing bowl, combine crushed bread crumbs, softened butter, and dried thyme.
8
Mix these ingredients together until they form a cohesive mixture, then sprinkle it evenly over the top of your tuna and pasta mixture.
9
Place the casserole dish in a preheated oven, uncovered, and let it cook for approximately 40 minutes or until it's golden brown and bubbly.
