  • 1 cup pineapple and orange juice blend
  • 2 tablespoons softened butter
  • 1/2 cup (packed) dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped macadamia nuts

First, submerge yams into a large pot and envelop them with salted water. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil, then gradually decrease the heat to a moderate level, cover it, and let it simmer until the yams are tender, approximately 20 minutes. Remove from heat and allow them to steam dry for a short while.

Next, preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit (165 degrees Celsius).

Return the cooked yams to their original pot and mash them using a sufficient amount of juice until they achieve a smooth consistency. Fill the 3 quart casserole dish with the mashed yams, and then dot the top of it with butter. Sprinkle a generous amount of brown sugar and nuts over the yams.
