Ingredients
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1 (3 ounce) bar dark chocolate, cut into chunks
- 3 tablespoons white chocolate chips
Instructions
1
Combine brown sugar and butter in a large bowl; blend until a smooth, deep brown mixture forms. Add white sugar and salt to the bowl; mix until well combined.
2
Beat the mixture with an electric mixer until it reaches a smooth, creamy consistency; 10 to 15 seconds pass.
3
Add egg and vanilla extract to the mixture; blend until it lightens in color and becomes smooth.
4
In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking soda; mix until they are well incorporated. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until mostly combined, leaving some white streaks of flour behind.
5
Fold in milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and white chocolate using a spatula; avoid over-mixing. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 48 hours.
6
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) when you're ready to bake.
7
Divide the dough into 2 1/4-ounce portions and place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
8
Bake the cookies in the preheated oven until they start to look golden brown and crispy around the edges; 10 to 12 minutes have passed.
9
Remove the cookies from the oven when they are set; about 30 minutes later, they will be cool and ready to serve.
