Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons beef or bacon drippings
Instructions
1
Combine the dry ingredients - flour, salt - with milk, eggs in a large bowl using an electric mixer until the mixture is well combined and has a smooth consistency, approximately 5 minutes. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for an hour.
2
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with beef drippings. Place the prepared pan in the preheating oven until the drippings are hot and sizzling, about 15 minutes.
3
Retrieve the chilled batter from the refrigerator; briefly whisk it before transferring it to the prepared baking pan.
4
Bake the pudding in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Continue baking without opening the oven door until the pudding is puffed and golden brown, approximately 15 minutes more. Remove from the oven, cut into 8 equal pieces, and serve hot immediately
