- 4 oranges, quartered
- 3 lemons, quartered
- 1 cup raisins
- 6 cinnamon sticks
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon whole allspice berries
- 1/2 teaspoon whole cloves
- 1/2 gallon 190 proof grain alcohol
Instructions
1
Combine water and honey in a large cooking vessel over medium heat, stirring until they are fully incorporated.
2
Add orange and lemon quarters, raisins, cinnamon sticks, caraway seeds, allspice berries, and cloves to the mixture, stirring until they are evenly distributed.
3
Bring the combined ingredients to a rolling boil, then decrease the heat and let it simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4
Remove the pot from the heat source and carefully pour the liquid into a separate container, allowing it to cool for a short period of time.
5
Gradually add grain alcohol to the honey mixture, stirring until it is fully incorporated.
6
Pour the resulting liquid into bottles and seal them tightly. Refrigerate the bottles until they are ready for use.
7
