  • 1 cup pear juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Asian (toasted) sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onion
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, halved
  • 1/2 onion, chopped

First, place the beef strips in a bowl and add the cooking wine, pear juice, and black pepper. Mix everything together thoroughly to ensure an even distribution of the marinade ingredients. Allow the beef to sit in this mixture for 30 minutes, which will help to tenderize it and infuse it with flavor. Next, stir in the soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, chopped green onion, and sesame seeds to create a rich and savory marinade. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the beef for at least 2 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld together.

Next, preheat your outdoor grill to medium-high heat. This will ensure that the grill is hot enough to cook the beef quickly and evenly.

Remove the beef strips from the marinade, discarding the excess liquid. Place a sheet of aluminum foil on the preheated grill and arrange the beef slices separately on the foil, making sure they don't overlap. On a separate part of the foil, place the sliced mushrooms and onion, leaving enough space for them to cook evenly.

Cook the beef slices on the grill until they are nicely browned, flipping them every 3 to 5 minutes. This will take around 6-10 minutes in total, depending on the thickness of the beef strips. Once cooked, remove the beef from the grill and serve it with the sautéed mushrooms and onion.
