Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1 (12 ounce) package wide egg noodles
- 10 slices American cheese
Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to a high temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
2
Take a large pot and fill it with salted water, then bring the mixture to a rolling boil. Add egg noodles and cook until they are soft enough to eat, approximately 7 minutes. Remove the noodles from the pot and return them to their container.
3
Mix a packet of cream of chicken soup into the egg noodles until they are evenly coated.
4
Cook ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks. Remove the excess fat from the skillet and stir in a can of tomato soup, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Divide the beef mixture into two portions and place one half in a greased 2 1/2 quart casserole dish.
5
Add five slices of cheese over the ground beef in the casserole dish. Top with half of the egg noodles, then repeat the layers ending with cheese on top.
6
Place the casserole dish in a preheated oven and bake for 35 minutes, or until the cheese is golden brown and the sauce is bubbly.
