Tomato Basil Soup with Grilled Cheese
Ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small clove garlic, minced
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
  • 1/4 cup bottled marinara sauce
  • 1/2 (10.75 ounce) can water
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh oregano, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil, or more to taste
  • 6 Italian-style seasoned croutons, or as needed
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
1
Preheat the saucepan over medium heat, filling it with olive oil. Introduce minced garlic into the pan and cook until it becomes soft and aromatic, taking around 2 to 3 minutes. Combine the garlic-infused oil with a can of condensed soup and marinara sauce, stirring well to merge the flavors.
2
To achieve the desired consistency, fill half of the soup can with water and gently mix it in before slowly pouring the mixture back into the can.
3
Add a sprinkle of dried oregano and a pinch of pepper to enhance the flavor, then bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
4
Gradually decrease the heat to low and allow the flavors to meld together, requiring approximately 15 minutes of simmering.
5
Once the flavors have harmonized, stir in some chopped basil leaves to add a touch of freshness.
6
Spoon the soup into individual bowls and top with croutons and grated Parmesan cheese for a satisfying finish.
