- 10 tomatillos, husked
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 2 jalapeno peppers, chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- salt and pepper to taste

Submerge tomatillos in a heat-resistant container with sufficient liquid to completely immerse them. Place the container over high heat and bring the mixture to a rolling boil. Continue cooking until the tomatillos become tender, start to release their juices, and begin to break down, approximately 10 minutes.

Remove the tomatillos from the heat source and drain off any excess liquid. Then, transfer them to a kitchen appliance designed for pureeing or blending along with an onion, garlic clove, jalapeño peppers, cilantro leaves, salt, and pepper. Process the ingredients until you achieve your preferred texture.
