Ingredients
- 1 (14 ounce) package extra-firm tofu
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/4 teaspoons chopped fresh basil
- 1 1/4 teaspoons chopped fresh marjoram
- 1 1/4 teaspoons chopped fresh rosemary
- 1 1/4 teaspoons chopped fresh oregano
- 1 1/4 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1/4 cup olive oil
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
2
Place the tofu on a flat surface and position another plate on top of it. Add weight equivalent to 3-5 pounds to compress the tofu for 15 minutes, allowing excess moisture to escape.
3
Break the compressed tofu into smaller pieces and apply additional pressure to remove any remaining liquid. Transfer the processed tofu to a large bowl.
4
Combine the following ingredients in the bowl: onion, egg, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, Worcestershire sauce, basil, marjoram, rosemary, oregano, thyme, red pepper flakes, salt, hot sauce, and garlic. Mix the ingredients thoroughly using your hands until they are fully incorporated.
5
Pour a small amount of olive oil onto the prepared baking sheet. Shape tablespoonfuls of the tofu mixture into balls and arrange them in rows on the baking sheet.
6
Drizzle any remaining olive oil over the meatballs before placing them in the oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the meatballs are browned and firm to the touch.
