Tie-Dye Clown Cake
Ingredients
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package white cake mix
  • 1 1/3 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • red paste food coloring
  • orange paste food coloring
  • yellow paste food coloring
  • green paste food coloring
  • blue paste food coloring
  • purple paste food coloring
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or 175 degrees Celsius, if you prefer metric). Next, take some butter and rub it all over two 8-inch round cake pans to prevent them from sticking.
2
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg whites using an electric mixer until they become light and fluffy. This should take around 1 minute. Now, add the cake mix, water, and canola oil to the bowl, and continue mixing on medium speed for another 2 minutes.
3
Now it's time to divide the cake batter into six separate portions. Take a toothpick and scoop out a small amount of food coloring from the container - just enough to color one bowl of batter. Mix it in well, then add more food coloring if needed until you achieve the desired shade of color. Repeat this process with the remaining colors and bowls of batter.
4
Using a spoon, scoop out small amounts of colored batter into the prepared pans. To create a marbled effect, use a toothpick to gently swirl the colors together in each pan.
5
Place the pans in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean. Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
