Ingredients
- 1 cup white wine
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 7 ounces Gruyere cheese, cubed
- 7 ounces sharp Cheddar cheese, cubed
- 7 ounces Emmentaler cheese, cubed
Instructions
1
Heat the wine in a small saucepan over a very low heat setting until it starts to gently bubble.
2
At the same time, melt the butter in a medium-sized saucepan over a medium-low heat setting. Whisk the flour into the melted butter until you have a smooth, thick paste. Then whisk in the wine to create a seamless mixture. Gradually stir in the Gruyère, Cheddar, and Emmentaler cheese until it is fully melted and reaches a smooth consistency after about 5 minutes.
3
Transfer the cheese mixture into a fondue pot. Maintain its warmth by keeping it over a low flame.
