Ingredients
- 1/4 cup sesame oil
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar, or more to taste
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 4 (6 ounce) salmon steaks
Instructions
1
Combine sesame oil, lemon juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame seeds, ground mustard, ginger, and garlic powder in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until the mixture is well combined and the sugar has dissolved, creating a smooth consistency.
2
Set aside half of the marinade mixture for future use.
3
Transfer the remaining marinade to a resealable plastic bag. Place salmon steaks inside and coat them evenly with the marinade, ensuring all surfaces are well covered. Remove excess air from the bag and seal it tightly to prevent leakage.
4
Refrigerate the marinated salmon for a period of 1 to 2 hours, allowing it to absorb the flavors.
5
Position an oven rack approximately six inches away from the heat source and preheat the broiler to its highest setting.
6
Place salmon steaks under the preheated broiler and cook for five minutes, periodically brushing them with the reserved marinade.
7
Flip the salmon steaks over and continue to broil for an additional five minutes, or until they have achieved the desired level of opacity and can be easily flaked with a fork.
