Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 2 tablespoons tequila
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 pinch garlic salt
- 1 pinch ground cumin
- ground black pepper to taste
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 6 (10 inch) wooden skewers
- 1 large lime, quartered
Instructions
1
Combine the tangy flavors of lime juice, tequila, olive oil, garlic salt, cumin, and black pepper in a bowl by whisking them together until they form a harmonious blend. Transfer this mixture to a large, resealable container and add the succulent shrimp; seal the bag and massage it gently to ensure an even coating. Chill in the refrigerator for 1 to 4 hours prior to grilling.
2
Prepare your grill by submerging skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent them from catching fire. Preheat your outdoor grill to a medium-high heat level, then lightly brush the grill grate with oil and position it 4 inches away from the heat source.
3
Discard any remaining marinade from the shrimp and arrange them on prepared skewers, spacing them 5 to 6 per skewer. Place the shrimp on the grill and cook, uncovered, until they turn pink and are cooked through, flipping them once during the 5 to 7 minute cooking time.
