- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 medium onion, cut into rings
- 3 pounds beef short ribs

Heat a large pan over the middle heat setting, stirring in tomato sauce, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir in parsley, thyme, bay leaves, brown sugar, salt, and red pepper flakes. Add the sliced onions and short ribs to the pan, stirring together until the mixture reaches a rolling boil.

Cover the pan with a lid and lower the heat to a low setting, simmering occasionally and removing excess fat from the surface. Continue cooking until the short ribs become tender, taking around 2 hours and 30 minutes. Remove the bay leaves before serving the dish.
