Tender Pulled Pork BBQ
Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped onion
  • 1 cup bottled barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco®), or to taste
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 (3 pound) pork shoulder roast
Instructions
1
Combine the finely chopped onion, sweet barbecue sauce, crunchy celery, hydrating water, tangy ketchup, rich honey, smooth brown sugar, savory Worcestershire sauce, aromatic garlic, spicy hot pepper sauce, and warm chili powder in a slow cooker until everything is perfectly blended. Position the pork roast in the center of the cooker and generously pour the sauce over it. Allow the mixture to cook slowly on Low for 7 to 8 hours, or until the tender meat can be effortlessly pulled apart with a fork. To ensure the pork is fully cooked, insert an instant-read thermometer into its center and verify that it reaches a minimum temperature of 195 degrees F (91 degrees C).
2
Remove the pork and use two forks to shred it into tender, bite-sized pieces. Return the shredded meat back into the sauce and serve.
