Tender Beer-Braised Pork Chops
Ingredients
  • 6 pork chops
  • 2 tablespoons steak seasoning
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle beer
  • 1 (18 ounce) bottle barbeque sauce
  • 2 onions, sliced
Instructions
1
Season the pork chops with a blend of spices commonly used in steak seasoning. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the pork chops until they are nicely browned on both sides. Remove them from the skillet and place them on a plate to rest.
2
Next, deglaze the skillet by pouring in beer and scraping up any browned residue from the bottom. Continue to cook the beer until it has fully incorporated with the remaining bits of flavor, creating a rich sauce.
3
Add barbecue sauce to the skillet and stir until it is well combined with the beer mixture. Then, return the pork chops to the skillet and add sliced onions on top. Move the heat to a lower setting, cover the skillet with a lid, and let it simmer gently for 1 to 2 hours.
4
To ensure the pork chops are cooked through, insert an instant-read thermometer into the thickest part of a chop. The internal temperature should reach at least 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).
