Tater Tot Quiche with Ham and Cheese
Ingredients
  • 3 cups frozen bite-sized potato nuggets (such as Tater TotsĀ®)
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup diced ham
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1/3 cup diced onion
  • 1/3 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to a high temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
2
Make the crust by placing potato nuggets in a large microwave-safe container. Heat in short bursts until thawed, approximately 1 to 2 minutes. Add butter and salt; mash together until potato nuggets are broken down into a crumbly mixture. Press the mixture evenly into a glass pie dish.
3
Bake the crust in the preheated oven until it reaches a golden color, taking around 20 to 25 minutes.
4
Remove the crust from the oven and lower the oven temperature to a moderate level of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
5
Make the filling by mixing together Cheddar cheese, diced ham, Parmesan cheese, and flour in a bowl. Whisk eggs separately until they become smooth and creamy. Combine the whisked eggs with milk, finely chopped onion, bell pepper, salt, onion powder, and garlic powder in a separate bowl. Pour the egg mixture into the cheese mixture and stir until well combined. Then, pour the filling over the crust.
6
Bake the filled pie in the preheated oven until the filling is set and reaches a golden color, approximately 45 minutes.
7
Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for a period of 10 to 15 minutes before slicing.
