Taco-Seasoned Burgers
Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 (1 ounce) packet taco seasoning
  • 5 slices pepper Jack cheese
  • 5 hamburger buns, split
  • 1/4 cup sour cream, or to taste
  • 1/4 cup salsa, or to taste
  • 1 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
Instructions
1
Preheat your outdoor grill to a medium-high heat setting, ensuring it reaches the optimal temperature for grilling. Lightly brush the grill grate with oil to prevent sticking and promote even cooking.
2
Combine ground beef and taco seasoning in a bowl, using your hands to mix the ingredients until they are fully incorporated. Divide the mixture into 5 equal parts, then shape each portion into a patty.
3
Place the patties on the preheated grill and cook for 5 minutes, or until they reach a medium-rare temperature. Flip the patties over and continue to grill for an additional 5 minutes, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. To ensure the patties are cooked to a safe temperature, use an instant-read thermometer to check the internal temperature of the patty. The ideal reading is at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).
4
Meanwhile, toast the buns by spreading a layer of sour cream and salsa on each one. Assemble the burgers by placing a cooked patty on top of each bun, followed by a sprinkle of cilantro, a slice of tomato, an avocado slice, and a few onion slices.
