Ingredients
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning, divided
- 1 (10 ounce) package prepared pizza dough
- 1 cup fat-free refried beans
- 1/4 cup salsa
- 4 ounces tomato paste
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend
Instructions
1
Begin by preheating your oven to a high temperature of 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius).
2
In a medium-sized skillet, heat some oil over an average temperature and add the ground beef. Sprinkle half of the taco seasoning packet over the top, stirring occasionally until the meat is browned and crumbly, taking around 8 minutes to achieve this. Discard any excess fat that may have accumulated during cooking.
3
Take the pizza dough and flatten it into a circular shape, forming a raised edge around the perimeter. In a separate bowl, combine the refried beans and salsa to create a uniform mixture.
4
Mix together the remaining taco seasoning packet, water, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and tomato paste in another bowl to create a sauce. Spread this sauce evenly over the refried bean mixture on the crust.
5
Top the pizza with the cooked ground beef, sprinkle some onions over the top, and cover everything with a layer of cheese.
6
Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the crust is cooked through and the cheese has melted and started to brown.
