Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 4 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups long grain white rice
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup pine nuts
Instructions
1
Preheat your stovetop to a high heat setting, and place a large saucepan over the flame. Melt 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, stirring occasionally, until it reaches a golden brown hue. Add ground beef to the saucepan and sprinkle with salt, allspice, cinnamon, and black pepper. Continue cooking and stirring until the beef is nicely browned and has a crumbly texture, taking around 7 to 10 minutes.
2
Next, add the contents of a chicken broth packet and uncooked white rice to the saucepan with the beef. Stir well, then bring the mixture to a rolling boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to a low setting and cover the saucepan with a lid. Let it simmer for about 20 minutes, or until all the liquid has been absorbed.
3
Simultaneously, melt an additional 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir the pine nuts in hot butter until they are lightly browned, taking around 3 to 5 minutes.
4
Mix the toasted pine nuts into the beef-rice mixture before serving.
