Sweet Hawaiian Ham and Cheese Sliders
Ingredients
  • cooking spray (such as Crisco®)
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce, or more to taste
  • 1 (12 count) package Hawaiian sweet rolls, split, or more as needed
  • 1 pound sliced deli ham, or more as needed
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese, or more as needed
Instructions
1
Collect all the necessary items and prepare your oven for cooking.
2
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or 175 degrees Celsius, if using a different scale).
3
Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray to prevent food from sticking.
4
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat; cook and stir the onion until it becomes tender, taking about 5 to 10 minutes.
5
Add mustard, poppy seeds, and Worcestershire sauce; stir the mixture for another 5 minutes.
6
Arrange the bottom halves of the rolls in the prepared baking dish.
7
Spoon two-thirds of the onion mixture over the bottom halves.
8
Add slices of ham and cheese to each roll.
9
Place the top halves of the rolls over the cheese layer, then brush the remaining onion mixture evenly over the top.
10
Cover the dish with aluminum foil to help retain moisture during baking.
11
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
12
Remove the aluminum foil and continue baking until the top halves of the rolls are lightly browned, taking about 5 to 10 minutes.
