Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon lemon extract
- 1 tablespoon molasses
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 5 tablespoons white sugar
- 2 tablespoons dry milk powder
- 2 tablespoons butter flavored shortening
- 4 1/2 cups bread flour
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
Instructions
1
Begin by placing all the ingredients into the bread machine's pan in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Choose the dough cycle option for a 2-pound batch and press the Start button. Due to its sticky nature, you may need to add a bit more bread flour as the mixture comes together.
2
Once the dough cycle is finished, take the risen dough out of the machine and transfer it to a lightly floured surface. Divide the dough into twelve equal portions and shape each one into a round. Place these rounds onto lightly greased baking sheets, making sure they don't touch one another. Cover the rolls with a damp cloth and allow them to rise until they have doubled in size, approximately 40 minutes. During this time, preheat your oven to a temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
3
Finally, bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until they achieve a golden brown color.
