Ingredients
- 2 pounds spaghetti
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 head garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 (26.5 ounce) can spaghetti sauce
- 1 (14 ounce) jar banana ketchup
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 pound hot dogs, sliced diagonally
- 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions
1
Fill a large pot with water that has been lightly seasoned with salt, and then bring it to a vigorous boil over extremely high heat. As soon as the water reaches its boiling point, gently add the spaghetti into it, and then return it to a boil. Continue cooking the pasta uncovered, occasionally stirring it with a spoon, until it reaches the perfect level of doneness, but still retains some firmness in the center, approximately 12 minutes. Transfer the cooked pasta to a colander placed in the sink and drain it thoroughly.

Heat a skillet over medium heat, filling it with vegetable oil. Introduce the garlic and onion into the skillet and cook them until the onion becomes soft and translucent, taking around 5 minutes. Add the beef and pork to the skillet, season with salt and pepper to taste, and cook them until they turn a nice brown color. Add the spaghetti sauce, banana ketchup, sugar, and water to the skillet, stirring everything together. Allow the mixture to simmer until it reaches a thickened consistency, approximately 15 minutes. Add sliced hot dogs to the skillet and continue cooking until they are heated through. Serve the spaghetti with a sprinkle of Cheddar cheese on top.
