Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sake
- 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
- 1 pound pork spareribs
Instructions
1
Collect and prepare all necessary ingredients for the recipe.
2
Combine hoisin sauce, ketchup, honey, soy sauce, sake, rice vinegar, lemon juice, ginger, garlic, and five-spice powder in a shallow glass dish. Place the pork ribs in the dish and ensure they are evenly coated with the sauce mixture. Cover the dish with a lid or plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours or up to an entire night.
3
Heat your oven to the desired temperature of 325 degrees Fahrenheit (165 degrees Celsius). Fill a broiler tray with enough water to completely submerge the bottom. Position a rack or grill over the tray and arrange the pork ribs on the rack in an orderly fashion.
4
Bake the ribs in the preheated oven, located on the center rack, for 40 minutes. Every 10 minutes, turn the ribs and brush them with the remaining marinade sauce.
5
Allow the marinade to cook for an additional 10 minutes, resulting in a sticky glaze. If desired, finish cooking the ribs under the broiler to achieve a crispy exterior.
6
Discard any leftover marinade and serve the finished ribs.
