  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Melt butter in a medium-sized cooking vessel over a moderate heat setting. Introduce brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt into the mixture. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil while constantly stirring. Allow it to simmer without stirring for 4 minutes.
