Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon orange juice
- 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce, or to taste
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast meat - cut into strips
Instructions
1
Combine soy sauce, orange juice, hot pepper sauce, vanilla extract, brown sugar, and honey in a bowl. Stir until the sweet ingredients are fully incorporated into the savory mixture. Add minced garlic, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning to give it a rich flavor profile. Whisk in sesame oil and vegetable oil until they are fully blended into the marinade.
2
Next, coat the chicken with the marinade, cover it with plastic wrap or aluminum foil, and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate.
3
Preheat your oven by adjusting the rack to its highest position and setting the temperature to Broil. Place the chicken in a baking dish or baking sheet, depending on its size.
4
Place the chicken under the broiler and cook until it's golden brown, taking about 5 to 8 minutes. Flip the chicken over and continue broiling until it's no longer pink, adding about 5 minutes more to the cooking time.
