Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 slices bread, crumbled
- 1 pinch salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 cup beef bouillon
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to its highest temperature setting, which is 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius.
2
In a large mixing container, combine an egg and some water, then add ground beef, breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper. Thoroughly blend all the ingredients together until they are well combined.
3
Use your hands to shape the ground beef mixture into small, bite-sized balls. Place these meatballs in a large baking dish.
4
Place the meatballs in the preheated oven and let them cook for 25 to 30 minutes, or until they are nicely browned on the outside and no longer pink inside.
5
In a large cooking vessel or Dutch oven, combine ketchup, beef broth, and vinegar. In another small container, mix together brown sugar and cornstarch. Stir the brown sugar mixture into the ketchup mixture until it is fully incorporated.
6
Bring the sauce to a boil, then reduce the heat to a low setting and continue stirring until the sauce has thickened and is bubbly, about 5 minutes. The brown sugar should have fully dissolved at this point.
7
Add the cooked meatballs to the sauce and stir until they are well coated. Serve the meatballs in their savory sauce.
