Ingredients
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 (1 inch) piece fresh ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch

To prepare the marinade: Combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, brown sugar, sesame seeds, garlic, and ginger in a bowl until the ingredients are harmoniously blended together.

To create the sauce: Transfer the marinade mixture into a small saucepan and heat it over medium-high heat. In another small bowl, whisk water and cornstarch together; then add the mixture to the marinade mixture. Bring the combined liquid to a rolling boil, and subsequently decrease the heat and simmer the sauce, stirring constantly, until it reaches the desired consistency, approximately 5 to 7 minutes.
