Supreme Veggie Quiche
Ingredients
  • 2 (9 inch) deep dish frozen pie crusts
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 (4.5 ounce) can mushrooms, drained and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped green bell pepper
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 6 eggs
  • 12 ounces cooked ham, chopped
  • 8 ounces shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 8 ounces shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried tarragon
  • 1 pinch garlic powder
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
  • 1 pinch dried parsley
  • salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to its optimal temperature of three hundred fifty degrees Fahrenheit (one seven five degrees Celsius).
2
Next, subject the preheated oven to a brief period of time to achieve a partially baked state for the crusts, lasting ten minutes.
3
Subsequently, place the partially baked crusts on a wire rack to cool completely.
4
In a large skillet, cook and soften the onion, mushrooms, and green pepper over medium heat until the onion becomes transparent.
5
Immediately remove the skillet from the heat source and set it aside to await further instructions.
6
In a large bowl, combine the cream and eggs until they are thoroughly blended together.
7
Add the ham, Jack cheese, Swiss cheese, and cooked vegetables to the bowl and mix until they are evenly distributed.
8
Introduce a splash of vinegar into the mixture, followed by the addition of various seasonings including tarragon, garlic powder, nutmeg, parsley, salt and pepper.
9
Divide the filling mixture evenly among the preheated pie crusts.
10
Finally, place the filled pie crusts in the oven and bake until the filling is set and the crusts have attained a golden brown color, requiring fifty-five to sixty minutes of cooking time.
