  • 1 1/2 teaspoons hot taco seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2/3 cup shredded mild Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded lettuce, or to taste
  • 1/4 cup purchased salsa
  • 3 tablespoons purchased guacamole
  • 1 tablespoon sliced jalapeno peppers, or to taste

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, which is equivalent to 175 degrees Celsius.

Heat a generous amount of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, then add the ground beef substitute and cook for 1 to 2 minutes on each side. Stir in water and taco seasoning, then continue cooking and stirring until the mixture is fully cooked through, approximately 8 minutes longer.

Arrange a layer of tortilla chips on an oven-safe plate and top with black beans. Add the cooked ground beef substitute, followed by a sprinkle of Cheddar cheese.

Place the plate in the preheated oven and bake until the cheese is melted, around 5 minutes. Ensure that the tortilla chips do not burn during this time.
