Ingredients
- 2/3 cup white sugar
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 5 nectarines
- 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shell
Instructions
1
First, preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Next, put a large pot of water on the stovetop and turn the heat up to its highest setting, causing the water to rapidly boil.
2
Then, prepare a mixture of sugar, flour, cinnamon, heavy cream, and almond extract. Set this combination aside for the time being.
3
After that, submerge nectarines in boiling water for 30 to 45 seconds. Remove the nectarines from the hot water with a quick splash of cold running water, and then carefully remove their skins. Cut each nectarine in half lengthwise and take out the pits; arrange these nectarine halves cut-side down in your prepared crust.
4
Pour the cream mixture you had set aside earlier around the nectarine halves, making sure they are fully coated.
5
Finally, bake your dessert in the preheated oven until the filling is set and has reached a suitable consistency, approximately 40 to 45 minutes. Serve your dessert warm or chilled.
