Ingredients
- 2 (9 inch) pie crusts
- 1 (12 fluid ounce) can unsweetened apple juice concentrate, thawed
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 6 cups sliced green apples
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature of three hundred fifty degrees Fahrenheit, or one seventy five degrees Celsius.
2
Take a small bowl and mix together a quarter cup of apple juice concentrate with some cornstarch and a pinch of cinnamon. Set this mixture aside for now.
3
In a large saucepan, combine some apples with the remaining apple juice concentrate and cook over medium heat until the apples are tender, taking around ten minutes to achieve this.
4
Add the cornstarch mixture that you set aside earlier into the saucepan and continue to cook until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat once it reaches this consistency.
5
Pour the apple mixture into a pastry-lined pie plate and cover it with the top crust. Seal the edges of the crust by crimping them together, and use a fork to create decorative patterns on the top. Make small holes in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
6
Bake the pie in the preheated oven for around forty-five minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crispy.
