Ingredients
- 1 (16 ounce) package jumbo pasta shells
- 4 cups large curd cottage cheese
- 12 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 pinch garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 (26 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
Instructions
1
Collect and prepare all necessary ingredients.
2
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
3
Fill a large pot with salted water and bring it to a rolling boil. Add the pasta shells and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are tender but still retain some firmness when bitten into, approximately 8 minutes. Drain the shells, rinse them under cold running water, and set them aside for now.
4
Combine cottage cheese, mozzarella cheese, half a cup of grated Parmesan cheese, eggs, and garlic powder in a large mixing bowl. Use your fingers to crush the oregano and parsley leaves, then gently fold them into the cheese mixture.
5
Fill each pasta shell with the prepared cheese mixture.
6
Cover the bottom of a 15x10-inch baking dish with one-third of the spaghetti sauce. Arrange the pasta shells, seam-side up, in a close-packed manner within the dish. Spread the remaining sauce evenly over the top; sprinkle with the remaining one-quarter cup of Parmesan cheese.
7
Place the prepared dish in the preheated oven and bake until it's bubbly, taking 25 to 35 minutes. Allow the dish to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
