Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 1/2 cups crushed pretzels
- 1 (6 ounce) package strawberry flavored Jell-O®
- 2 cups boiling water
- 3 cups strawberries, chilled
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to a high heat setting, equivalent to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius.
2
Mix the softened butter or margarine with the brown sugar until well combined, then incorporate the crushed pretzels into the mixture. Press the resulting dough evenly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
3
Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until it reaches the desired level of golden brown. Allow it to cool completely.
4
In a separate container, gently heat the water until boiling point, then carefully dissolve the gelatin into it. Stir in the sliced strawberries and refrigerate until the mixture has started to thicken.
5
In a separate bowl, blend the softened cream cheese with the white sugar until smooth and creamy. Fold in the whipped cream until well combined. Spread this mixture evenly over the top of the cooled crust, ensuring a tight seal around the edges.
6
Chill the cream cheese layer in the refrigerator until it has set, then pour the gelatin mixture over the top of it. Refrigerate once more until the entire dessert has reached a firm consistency.
