Strawberry Basil Cobbler
Ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 cups strawberries, hulled
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh basil
  • 1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit or 200 degrees Celsius.
2
Next, take a small amount of butter and coat the interior of a 2-quart baking dish to prevent sticking.
3
In a separate saucepan, combine water, sugar, and cornstarch, then bring the mixture to a gentle simmer while stirring continuously.
4
Add sliced strawberries and chopped basil leaves to the saucepan mixture, stirring gently to coat all the ingredients.
5
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and place it in the oven.
6
Cut small pieces of butter and sprinkle them on top of the strawberries for added flavor.
7
Take a package of crescent rolls and break them apart, then arrange the pieces on top of the strawberries as desired.
8
Melt a small amount of butter in the microwave using a microwave-safe dish, and then brush it over the crescent rolls.
9
Add a small amount of sugar and cinnamon on top of the crescent rolls for extra flavor.
10
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake until it's bubbly and golden brown, about 25 minutes.
11
Cover the dish with aluminum foil for the last 5 minutes of baking to prevent overbrowning.
