- 1 (29 ounce) can sliced peaches
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 (9 ounce) package yellow cake mix
- 4 teaspoons margarine

Remove excess liquid from canned peaches and transfer the remaining fruit to a substantial saucepan. Add granulated sugar and ground cinnamon evenly over the peaches. Spread cake mix uniformly across the surface, leaving a central area for margarine placement.

Place margarine in the center of the cake mix layer and cover with a lid to trap heat. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium-high heat, observing steam release from the saucepan as it reaches this point. Once you notice a visible mist escaping, decrease heat to low-medium and continue cooking for 10 minutes; refrain from lifting the lid during this time. Remove the saucepan from heat and permit it to rest, still sealed, for 15 minutes.
