Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds beef round steak
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/4 cup tequila
- 1/2 cup cooking oil
- 2 tablespoons liquid smoke
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon paprika
- 3/4 cup bell peppers, sliced into thin strips
- 1/2 cup sliced onions
Instructions
1
To prepare the dish, combine steak, fresh lime juice, and tequila in a sealed container; refrigerate for 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld.
2
When you're ready to cook, heat up an outdoor grill to high temperatures and lightly brush the grates with oil.
3
Next, remove the steak from its marinade and gently shake off any excess liquid; discard the remaining marinade.
4
Grill the steak on the preheated grill until it reaches your desired level of doneness, about 8 minutes per side. Remove the steak from the grill and slice it into thin strips.
5
Arrange the sliced steak on a serving plate, then heat some oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add liquid smoke, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper to the skillet; stir until everything is well combined.
6
Once the mixture is hot, add sliced bell peppers and onions to the skillet; cook until they're tender.
7
Pour the pepper and onion mixture over the sliced steak strips, then serve the dish immediately.
