Ingredients
- 8 lasagna noodles
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 large cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 (14 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, or to taste
Instructions
1
Begin by preheating your oven to a high temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or the equivalent temperature of 175 degrees Celsius, if your oven is in metric units). Next, fill a large pot with water and add a moderate amount of salt to it. Place the pot over high heat and bring the water to a rolling boil. Then, cook lasagna noodles in the boiling water, stirring occasionally and checking on them frequently, until they are cooked through but still retain a bit of firmness when bitten into, which should take around 8 minutes. Remove the noodles from the water and lay them flat on a clean, flat surface to dry.
2
In a separate pan, heat a moderate amount of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic to the pan and cook, stirring occasionally, until it releases its fragrance, which should take about 2 minutes. Transfer the garlic to a large mixing bowl. Add fresh spinach, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, and a pinch of salt to the bowl. Mix everything together until it's evenly combined.
3
Next, take a lasagna noodle and spread a generous amount of the spinach mixture onto its surface. Roll the noodle tightly around the filling, making sure it's secure, and place it in a baking dish. Repeat this process with the remaining noodles, filling each one generously with spinach mixture and placing it in the dish. Pour a moderate amount of spaghetti sauce over the noodles to cover them.
4
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 5 minutes to allow the top layer to brown slightly. Finally, sprinkle a generous amount of Parmesan cheese over the noodles and serve.
